Festas de Lisboa 2010
Festas de Lisboa 2010

In June, the month of the traditional saints, Lisboa is in a party mood. Street entertainment, concerts and shows, folk festivities and more are held throughout the city. In the traditional neighbourhoods, it is a tradition to have grilled sardines, “caldo verde” soup, spicy sausage bread, basil pots, beer, red wine, lots of music and entertainment. Come join the party!

These popular celebrations take place in the historical quarters of Lisboa. On the night of 12 June (St Antonio) a long parade is organised along the Liberdade Av.; while Alfama streets are crowded with people dancing, listening fado; drinking and eating grilled sardines.

The historic districts, as well as the capital’s avenues and streets will all welcome the Lisboa Festivities for all those who live here and those who visit.
