Alkantara Festival is one of the biggest stage arts celebrations in Lisboa.
Every year performers from all over the world meet up in Lisboa bringing with them the most original and innovative drama shows from their cultures. For 2010, Alkantara Festival will host around 30 dance performances, theatre and everything from artists from Argentina, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Switzerland, Egypt, USA, France, Portugal, Belgium, Japan, China, Holland, Brazil, Spain, Hungary, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Ecuador, Greece, Italy, and more.
They bring their local and global culture, both universal and personal, past and future, legends of beauty and unrest in a world of rapid change.
However, all with one aim: a desire to communicate with the spectator.
May 21 to June 9, various locations in Lisboa: São Luiz Theatre, Rua António Maria Cardoso; CCB, Praça do Império; Culturgest, Rua Arco do Cego; Oriente Museum, Avenida Brasília, Doca de Alcântara (North); Maria Matos Theatre, Avenida Frei Miguel Contreiras; Berardo Collection Museum, Praça do Império; D. Maria II Theatre, Praça D. Pedro IV.
