This year the 3rd Fish in Lisboa has as its theme the discovery of transatlantic cuisine – with special highlight on Brazil – featuring eight international chefs, three of whom winners of Michelin Guide stars.
From April 10 to 18, at the Portugal Pavilion, Nations’ Park, the general public can admire the skills of Portuguese and international chefs preparing fish and seafood, with live presentations.
As has become the habit, gourmets can savour the flavours of exquisite cuisine, represented by some of the best restaurants in the Lisboa region present at Fish in Lisboa. Their dishes are naturally inspired by fish and seafood, and will be served midday to midnight. At the “Espaço Gourmet”, there are display stands where you can buy olive oil, convent sweets, wines and cheeses, among many other specialities. “Pão de Mafra” will be the official bread of this festival. Diversified and aimed at a varied public, the 2010 Fish in Lisboa will also feature conferences, recipe presentations, wine, beer and water tastings, all done by specialists.
Children can also enjoy their own area, where a chef will prepare fun and healthy meals. The event will close with the much appreciated “Grande Caldeirada” (Big Fish Stew) prepared by the chefs to delight the public.
Fish in Lisboa is promoted Turismo de Lisboa, and sponsored by Turismo de Portugal and Lisboa City Council, who together help turn Lisboa into the Cuisine Capital. This year 25 thousand people are expected to attend Fish in Lisboa, confirming the growing interest in this event, which is a differentiating factor in the Destination’s tourism offer.
