Das MOTELX - International Horror Film Festival von Lissabon fördert die besten international produzierten Horrorfilme und regt die Produktion portugiesischer Horrorfilme an.

Im Laufe der Jahre, hat es eine wichtige Position im internationalen Genre Film Festival erobert und ist zu einem der am meisten erwarteten und herausragenden kulturellen Veranstaltungen des Jahres in Lissabon geworden.

MOTELX – Lisbon International Horror Film Festival celebrates its 20th edition, from 3 to 13 September 2026, at Cinema São Jorge and Cinemateca Portuguesa.

It will be the biggest edition ever, with 11 days of festival, over 170 films from more than 40 countries and more than 145 screenings.

The Festival opens with "Drag", starring Lizzy Caplan, and closes with "Fall 2: Deadpoint".

This edition also marks Roger Corman's centenary, with producer Julie Corman in attendance, and the Mestre de Terror award given to Sergio Martino, alongside the Noémia Delgado Award for Notable Women in Horror, presented to Solveig Nordlund.
