Luxe Lisbon
"(...) Almost every corner you turn in central Lisbon brings an aesthetic surprise, whether it's a modem sculpture, a gothic tower or rows of ornamental tiles on a gracefully dilapidated building. For this reason, exploring the capital on foot is a great option -but wear flat shoes, especially if you're heading for the cobbled, hilly castle area (by Castelo de Sao Jorge).
There are tons of museums to choose from: one of our favourites is the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, which houses gorgeous art nouveau jewellery and opulent antique clothing -we particularly coveted the rich red velvet parasol. The museum is set within one of Lisbon's many lovely parks, so don't miss the chance to have a drink or a snack in the cafe overlooking the graceful green space. Lisbon also plays host 0 Europe's largest Oceanarium, the Parque das Nações, which was created for Lisbon's Expo 1998.
Lisbon's hippest shopping street is the Rua do Norte - in fact it's so hip that most of the shops don't open till mid afternoon! They stay open well into the evening, though, so you can combine a trip there with a stop-off in one of the nearby trendy bars. Check out EI Dorado for vintage clothes, Happy Days for crazy shoes and Hold Me for unusual designer bags. (...)"
