Terreiro do Paço, Renovation of the East Wing

Turismo de Lisboa has just presented the redevelopment project for the ground floor of the Terreiro do Paço East Wing. This prime area of the city will feature an exhibition centre, restaurants, cafes, a bar and events hall among other venues.

Opening in June 2012, the new retail, recreational and cultural venues at Terreiro do Paço will reflect a modern, avant-garde capital that is also historical and authentic, with the aim of revitalizing the east side of Lisboa's downtown Baixa district.

This venue will house several attractions, namely the "Lisboa Story Centre" - an exhibit centre dedicated to Lisboa's history - five food and beverage establishments - a beer hall, restaurant, two cafes, bar, flower shop and a food court with an entertainment and events area. Meanwhile, the East Tower will be renovated to be used as "guest reception hall" in Terreiro do Paço designed to host institutional and private events.

The proposed redevelopment of the East Wing is a partnership between Turismo de Lisboa and Lisboa City Council.
