Ordered by king Dom Afonso V, these tapestries comprise a unique collection in the world, “portraying” the conquest of Arzila and the occupation of Tangier. The collection features a trilogy on the Conquest of Arzila and a fourth tapestry dedicated to the Entry of Tangier. The next great exhibit at the National Art Museum, a Turismo de Lisboa member, will be dedicated to Portuguese naif painting and entitled “The Century of Nuno Gonçalves”. It is scheduled for October.
