CNC’s main objectives are to promote, defend, disseminate and register Portuguese cultural heritage.
The Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC) is responsible for studying, conserving and enhancing the cultural heritage; it manages 23 museums, palaces and monuments and coordinates the Portuguese Museums Network.
EGEAC is responsible for managing some of Lisbon’s key cultural spaces and for organising Festas de Lisboa and other street festivals.
