"before the beginning and after the end”: Júlio Pomar and Hugo Canoilas

We find this exhibition "before the beginning and after the end”… in a cross-section of the works by the two artists!

In a cross-section of the works by the two artists, a fictional approach is presented that seeks to think about what existed before the beginning of the world (humanity) and what will remain after the end of the world (humanity), by questioning the relationship between art and the idea of extinction, biodiversity and planetary coexistence.

It thus reveals the diversity of animals that Júlio Pomar represented for more than 70 years, and the body of work that Hugo Canoilas recently developed around a prehistoric, and sometimes post-apocalyptic, figuration.

Until 1st March, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm, Rua do Vale (buses: 706, 714, 773, 727 | tram: 28).

Tickets: 2 euros.
