Vieira da Silva and Arpad Szenes in the Ilídio Pinho Foundation Collection

Set of works by the two artists who were part of the Irradiação Vieira exhibition — works from the Ilídio Pinho Foundation collection

From October 7th, you can see the Vieira da Silva exhibition at the Arpad Szenes Museum – Vieira da Silva and Arpad Szenes in the Ilídio Pinho Foundation Collection, a set of works by the two artists who were part of the Irradiação Vieira exhibition — works from the Ilídio Pinho Foundation collection, closed on September 26, 2021.

Isabel Carlos points out this set of works by Vieira da Silva as representative of the broad thematic and expressive lines that cross the artist's artistic universe: libraries, cities, tiles, labyrinths, plots and webs and, more broadly, space, light and perspective.

That this private collection also has works by Arpad Szenes is confirmation of the attention and knowledge of the art and life history of this couple of artists on the part of the collector and those who advised him.

Chronologically the first work, by Vieira da Silva, is Untitled, from 1941 – the year the couple was living in Rio de Janeiro, fleeing the war – but it is the period between 1948 and 1965, one of the most creative and works by Vieira da Silva, who is represented in this private collection.

The exhibition can be visited until January 16, 2022.
