No fundo, Portugal é mar

Using video recorded by divers and a remote controlled submarine that reached a depth of 6,000 metres, Graça Castanheira presents a video installation that will take you below the surface while visiting this exhibition.

An underwater journey that will help you get to know Portugal’s maritime territory.

Intitled “Basically, Portugal is Sea”, the exhibition also includes a small part of the work of biologist Ana Pêgo, who since 2015 has been collecting plastic objects from Portuguese beaches, identifying them and cataloguing their origin.

Pêgo believes these examples are part of a new species, which she calls Plasticus maritimus.

Until 5th December, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
