The Museu Calouste Gulbenkian – Founder’s Collection presents an installation based on Eid al-Fitr, a ritual of great importance to the entire Muslim world marking the end of the holy month of Ramadam.
Taking this celebration as its starting point, an exhibition of a range of objects from the Collection is staged, which in a given historical and social context were part of this festive occasion, namely at banquets. In the course of the exhibition Eid al-Fitr, breaking the fast, this exhibition is based around a carpet from the Caucasus region, and comprises objects of predominantly Ottoman origin, including ceramics and tiles, textiles, a mosque lamp and a prayer mat. Until 17th July, every day except Tuesday, 10 am to 6 pm, Museu Calouste Gulbenkian – Founder’s Collection, Avenida de Berna (metro: São Sebastião). Tickets: 10 euros.
