Monstra - Lisboa Animation Festival'19
[ 20-03-2019 | 31-03-2019 ] Monstra is back in Lisboa with around 550 entries, ranging from feature-length through short to very short films.
This 18th edition pays homage to Canadian animation, through 14 sessions of films from that country, with retrospectives of works by a number of directors, including Normand Mclaren, Frédérick Back, Carolin Leaf, and a major retrospective of the National Film Board of Canada.
“Graphic Novels in Animation Cinema” is another of the retrospectives, which is based on the feature films about the famous sailor, the Maltese Falcon.
Tintin will also be present in the film “Tintin and the Prisoners of the Sun”. The programme also includes a preview of the adventure film, “The Queen’s Corgi” and the Japanese Oscar nominee, “Mirai”.
There is much more to see, including horror films, animation documentaries, films for adults and experimental animation.
At the weekend there will be sessions for parents and children, including Baby Monstra.
