Lisbon’s tallest skyscraper, at 140 metres, merits a visit and rewards you with one of the most special views in the city. Built on the riverfront in Parque das Nações, in profile the Torre Vasco da Gama looks like a swollen sail, evoking the countless ships that departed the Tagus to discover the world. Designed by Nick Jacobs and Leonor Janeiro, the building is an impressive landmark. Although it isn’t possible to climb to its top – unless you hire it for a special event – you can always access the visitor areas of the hotel housed in it. And you can be sure that the view from the Spa on the 23rd floor deserves to be seen. The massage is just the cherry on the top of the cake. Or the tower.
