Plug in - Joana Vasconcelos

‘Plug-in’ is Joana Vasconcelos’ most recent exhibition, that occupies the MAAT Central and MAAT Gallery buildings and gathers unknown works, iconic pieces and works from the Fundação EDP Art Collection.

At MAAT Gallery it is possible to find the unseen ‘Drag Race’ (2023), ‘War Games’ (2011), two pieces that were present at the Guggenheim in Bilbau and that are shown in Lisboa for the first time: ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ (2019) and the gigantic ‘anel Solitário’ (‘Solitaire’) (2018), that will be installed outside the museum, as well as the tentacular textile sculpture ‘Valkyrie Octopus’ created in 2015 for the MGM Macau and exhibited for the first time in Europe, suspended in the Galeria Oval (Oval Gallery) of the MAAT.

In the space MAAT Central will be the work ‘Árvore da Vida’ (‘Tree of Life’) (2023), that was created in the context of the Saison France Portugal and was now adapted to the Generator Room of the Tejo Power Station.
