A fado house in Lisbon's Bairro Alto since 1937. Fado every night, accompanied by contemporary Portuguese cuisine and course-by-course wine pairing.
Lisbon Tourism MemberAdega Machado is a fado house in Lisbon's Bairro Alto, founded in 1937 by guitarist and composer Armando Machado and fadista Maria de Lurdes Machado.
Amália Rodrigues, Fernando Maurício, Hermínia Silva, Beatriz da Conceição and many others performed here. Alfredo Marceneiro ended his career on this stage; Mariza made her professional debut here at the age of seven.
Fado is sung every night, between the courses. The cuisine is contemporary Portuguese, with a tasting menu paced to the rhythm of the night and course-by-course wine pairing.
The house spans three floors: the Main Room (floor 0) and the Terrace (floor 1), where the regular dining-with-fado service takes place; and the Sala da Fadistagem (floor -1, the Fadistas' Room), a versatile space that serves as an extension to the Main Room and also hosts private groups, corporate events and fado performances.
Open every night, from 7:30pm to 1:00am.
Today: 19:30 - 01:00
