The exhibition Avenida 211 is a living archive of the space at that same number on Avenida da Liberdade, which, between 2006 and 2014, was fertile ground for artistic activity in the very heart of Lisbon.
“More than four dozen artists and musicians of different generations established their studios here, and the space also generated and hosted numerous projects”, notes the curatorial team, highlighting the vitality of the city’s artistic scene that emerged there at a time of great difficulty, amid the global financial crisis (2008-2009) and the intervention of the Troika in Portugal (2010-2014).
