A reflection on the current situation that projects us into a hypothetical future scenario: that is M.A.G.N.E.T., the 21-minute film by the Egyptian artist Basim Magdy, which was specifically designed for the MAAT Video Room.
The volcanic crater on the island of Nisyros, Greece; the Foz Côa petroglyphs; the Almendres Cromlech near Évora; and a robotic library in Manchester, UK, are the scenarios chosen for a tale that tells of how diverse communities around the world receive the news about the increasingly serious situation in which the planet finds itself, describing a number of unexpected situations in different locations and contexts.
Until 2020, Wednesday to Monday from 11am to 7pm, MAAT – Museu de Arte, Tecnologia e Arquitetura, Av. Brasília (train: Cascais line – station: Belém). Tickets: general, 5 euros; students and seniors, 2.50 euros; under-18, free.
