Summer is coming, bringing warm nights, holidays, beaches, dunes, the Caparica sun and salty kisses. Summer is so good; it’s warmth and love, Maria Albertina and her girl Vanessa.

It’s moonlight parties and fireworks going off.

It’s street festivals and dancing, barbecued sardines, a carnation in an attic and a little house by the sea where the dream resides.

At Festas de Lisboa’s opening concert, we’ll say hello to the summer and sing ourselves hoarse with Ana Bacalhau, António Zambujo, Áurea, Conan Osiris and Marta Ren.

With them, the Orquestra Pop Portuguesa, conducted by Jan Wierzba and featuring original arrangements by Filipe Raposo, Pedro Moreira and Lino Guerreiro under artistic director Luis Varatojo.
