An annual cycle of religious and recreational celebrations which continues to attract hundreds of pilgrims who take advantage of these days for a time of spiritual reflection in a unique place.
The Ermida da Memória is the place where, according to legend, the image of the Virgin appeared in 1410, giving rise to the cult of Our Lady of the Cape. The first pilgrimages reached their peak in the 18th century.
Today, although the tradition is no longer what it once was, it continues to attract hundreds of pilgrims who take advantage of these days for a time of spiritual reflection in a unique place.
This annual religious event also has an entertainment programme over the four days.
