Alfredo Catalani’s La Wally was first performed at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos (TNSC) in 1910, and returned to the stage in 1956.

Performed for the very first time in 1892, the story, which takes place in the Tyrol Alps, recounts a young girl’s love for the son of her father’s enemy and her refusal to accept an arranged marriage.

On this occasion the musical drama is in its concert version and is led by Antonio Pirolli, who conducts the cast of soloists, with the soprano Zarina Abaeva featuring as the protagonist.

The TNSC choir and the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra complete the company of artists.
