[ 28-06-19 | 01-09-19 ] The magic of the Chinese puppet theatre can be experienced in Lisboa at an exhibition that combines heroes and beauties, clowns and villains, and which offers an interpretation of the culture of this theatre.
“Made in China” presents marionettes, shadows and masks from the north, south and west of the country, from Tangshan, Fujian, Taiwan, Indonesia and Guizhou.
In these places, the tradition of puppetry involves a number of types of manipulation and various artistic areas, including song, opera, literature, the fine arts and crafts.
Chinese shadow puppet theatre is classed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
