MISO STRING QUARTET - O'CULTO DA AJUDA - 22-09-2026 - 19H30
Miguel Azguime: Le Feu Qui Dort
Steve Reich: Different Trains
Constança Capdeville: Concertino
Miso Music Portugal takes on a new challenge with the creation of a string quartet born from a clear desire to address a structural gap in the Portuguese musical landscape: the scarcity of stable ensembles dedicated simultaneously to classical repertoire and contemporary musical creation.
This quartet establishes itself as a versatile and demanding artistic project, deeply connected to its time, developing a broad repertoire that spans the classical tradition, music of the 20th and 21st centuries, and mixed music — incorporating electronics and new technologies whenever the creative process calls for it. The ensemble's activity will also be grounded in the commissioning of new works, opening space for emerging creators, with particular attention to the promotion of women composers, actively contributing to a more diverse, equitable, and representative programming.
The quartet is made up of musicians with solid artistic experience and a significant interest in contemporary music: Pedro Lopes (1st violin), César Nogueira (2nd violin), Joana Cipriano (viola) and Luís André Ferreira (cello).
