Collective Exhibition | 24.09.2022 - 19.11.2022

The Collective of Curators from the Post-Graduate Course in Art Curatorship at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities in partnership with EGEAC – Municipal Galleries, Millennium bcp Fundation and Lumiar Civil Parish Council will inaugurate the exhibition O horizonte é o meio [The horizon is the middle] on 24th September, at Galeria Liminare, in Lisbon, which will be on show until 19th of November 2022.

The collective exhibition presents six artists - Carla Rebelo, Dalila Gonçalves, Desali, Diogo Evangelista, Gonçalo Preto and Henrique Biatto – who through different media, explores the horizon as a mechanism of movement and constructor of possibilities. O horizonte é o meio embodies a journey to the invisible. An intimate dialogue, a contemplative encounter between interior and exterior that can reflect alternatives to reality, guiding action and the creation of fictional places.

The Programme Entre Linhas [Between Linesc, for the community and general public, has been devised to run alongside the exhibition and includes a creative writing workshop with the writer/educator Carolina Zuppo Abed, guided tours with the creators, a concert and musical interludes, and conversations with the artists and guests. Of particular note is the screening of the film “HORIZON NOZIROH” by Salomé Lamas, followed by a conversation with the artist in the Auditório Orlando Ribeiro [Orlando Ribeiro Auditorium], as well as the initiative Linhas de Fuga [Lines of Escape], a collection of postcards aiming to address messages to three institutions: CAJIL [Lumiar Support Centre for Young People and the Elderly], Centro de Reabilitação de Paralisia Cerebral [Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centre] and Lar Militar da Cruz Vermelha [Red Cross Military Home] – blurring the boundaries between contemporary art and the audience(s)
The programme seeks to be a crossroads for different disciplines and reflect on the horizon line, while fuelling synergies from inside Galeria Liminare outwards. O horizonte é o meio is a pointer for wider discussion on artistic execution and the future, beyond the confines of the gallery.
