What this exhibition will show is that this character appears at the time of the creation of the drawing "P’rá cêra de Sant’Antó", published, on 12^th June 1875,  in A Lanterna Mágica, his first satirical newspaper.

This drawing was the beginning of a long relationship between the artist and the saint.

Thus, the exhibition "O Milagre do Riso" is organized in three core areas: "7.º Centenário de Santo António" (7th Centenary of Saint Anthony), "Os Santo Antónios da política" (The Saint Anthonys of politics) and "As Festas de Lisboa" (The Lisboa Festivities), in which the saint from Lisboa is presented by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro's humorous eye in graphic works and ceramic pieces.
