The new temporary exhibition of the Museu do Dinheiro, “Arquitetura, pura e simplesmente", highlights the architect Porfírio Pardal Monteiro and his 1936 proposal for the new headquarters of the Banco de Portugal Central Bank, which never came to fruition.

The model of the project has been preserved and is now being restored in the old Igreja de São Julião, the church that houses the museum and which would not have existed if the project had progressed.

This object, which has survived for decades, takes a look at the architect, his work and his reflection on Baixa Pombalina.

Until 23rd February, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm, Museu do Dinheiro, Largo de São Julião (metro: Baixa-Chiado).
