[ September ] Queer Lisboa is the sole Portuguese Film Festival dedicated exclusively to screen LGBT themed films, and movies dealing with subjects or aesthetics related to issues such as gender, identities or bodies, a genre known as Queer Cinema.
The Lisboa International Queer Film Festival will be held at Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa, Casa do Comum, Arroz Estúdios and Purex Clube.
The theme this year is Queer Resistance in conflict zones, countries under attack or states governed by the extreme right in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, focusing on the reality experienced by LGBTQI+ populations and communities.
One of the featured films will be Foggy: Palestine Solidarity, Cinema & The Archive.
This edition also includes a special programme of short films and a retrospective dedicated to William E. Jones.
