Considering fashion and photography as a privileged means of reflection on time and memory, the exhibition “Viver a sua Vida . Georges Dambier and Fashion / Vivre sa Vie. Georges Dambier et la Mode”, curated by Anabela Becho, presents the unique vision of photographer Georges Dambier in the context of Parisian haute couture in the 1950s, a period known as “L'Âge d'Or”.

In France, Dambier was one of the first photographers to take the mannequins out of the studios, abandoning fixed poses and stereotyped attitudes, but without neglecting a demanding and exquisite execution.

It is with the support of Hélène Lazareff, from ELLE, that he launches the avant-garde concept of "tourist-photographer", having come to Portugal in 1957 for a fashion report, where he inserts the models in iconic places such as Óbidos and Nazaré, between others, side by side with the local people.

The exhibition presents Georges Dambier's vision of a free and emancipated woman, far from the presupposition of a woman-object, through a selection of 40 photographs, organized into six thematic groups:
- Couture spirit;
- A woman in the city;
- Scénario: the revealed fashion photography;
- Real and Surreal: fashion photography, a universe between reality and fantasy;
- Invitation to travel: fashion in the world according to Georges Damrier;
- Portugal, 1957.
