Taylor's Port - Wine Shop & Tasting Room

Visit Taylor’s shop and tasting room in Lisbon and choose from a selection of our best and rarest Ports. In our tasting room, you can pair our Ports with Portuguese products.

Port Wine, one of the great classic European wines, has a long and fascinating history. Produced on the magnificent terraces of the Douro Demarcated Region, which boasts one of the most beautiful wine landscapes in the world, its first shipments outside Portugal were recorded in 1678.

Although Port wine has always been produced in the vineyards of the Douro Valley in northern Portugal, it took the name of the city of Porto, the place from which it was shipped. The Portuguese name «Vinho do Porto» has become in English «Port Wine».

Taylor is one of the oldest Port wine companies, established in 1692, and to this day under remains under family management. Over the years, the company has acquired three properties - Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta do Junco and Quinta de Terra Feira - which are the source of exceptional wines. Taylor´s remains dedicated entirely to the production of Port and in particular its finest styles.

All those in Lisbon now have the ability to travel through a glass to the rich and fascinating history of Port wine, and Taylor’s Port, in particular.  The tasting room lets customers, locals and tourists alike, enjoy top-quality and rare Port wine by the glass with commented tastings.  These unique Ports are also available for sale in our shop.

For many, Taylor’s is the archetypal Port house and drinking their wines it is the most sublime of the experiences.

Indeed, it is an experience that should not be missed during a trip to Portugal.
