This exhibition focuses on the work of this Portuguese artist who has played such an important role in the process of criticism and the renewal of contemporary artistic practice.
The works on display were created on paper, almost exclusively with watercolour and China ink and, as the exhibition title suggests, created during the 1970s.
They reveal a position of rupture and opposition to the forms and artistic discourses that were considered important at the time, and portray the morals, customs and historical and political moment being experienced by the country through narrative spirals that alternate between the metaphorical, the literal and the various artistic styles.
