The 20th LEFFEST – Lisbon Film Festival, running through the 6th to the 15th of November promises to be a remarkable edition. The festival program will occupy venues across the city, from downtown to Avenidas Novas (Cinema S. Jorge, Culturgest, Cinema Medeia Nimas, Teatro do Bairro, and eastwards, to cinema NOS – Vasco da Gama.

Featuring an International Competition bringing together young and established filmmakers, preview screenings of the year’s most eagerly awaited films – including those that have triumphed at major international festivals and those set to make their mark on the awards season – with screenings attended by directors and actors. Six retrospectives dedicated to the biggest names in contemporary cinema, attended by the directors themselves.

A film festival is also a time for discovery, for new films and for directors who will shape the future of cinema. That is why LEFFEST has an international ‘Discoveries’ section.

Films, talks, film-concerts, and meetings with the great directors, actors, musicians and artists of our time.
