Nothing to Hide

-

Nothing to Hide raises questions about a new aesthetic of movement, inclusion, and accessibility. It challenges preconceived notions about the body while creating a space for connection between the performers and the audience.

As part of the InArt – Community Arts Festival, Nothing to Hide will be performed at  Teatro Meridional from 28th to 31st of May.

This production is the result of the Biokinetics project, supported by the Creative Europe cooperation program of the European Union, which brings together partners from Portugal, Italy, and Greece, both with and without disabilities.

Sinopsis:
In a space where darkness still breathes, a body enters and listens. From silence, sound emerges; from sound, other bodies arrive. What begins as fragmentation slowly transforms into encounter — an unstable ground shaped through relation.
The initial fragmentation gradually recomposes into a form of synergy: bodies support, sustain, and reshape one another in a continuous balance between autonomy and interdependence. The stage becomes a living organism, where identities are redefined and transformed through encounter.
Rather than offering answers, the work invites the audience into a space of perception and coexistence — reflecting on visibility, inclusion, and the powerful act of being seen.
Nothing to hide - the act of being together.

The performance will also be accompanied by a photography and installation exhibition, which aims to zoom in on some of the themes and details explored throughout the creative process. The images reveal structures, mechanisms, and connections that normally remain hidden, bringing to light what underpins movement, adaptation, and existence. Amid metallic fragments, contact, and matter, bodies cease to hide their extensions and become open territories of connection and possibility.

The performance on the 30th of May will feature a post-show discussion, accompanied by Portuguese Sign Language.
