Odivelas is marking the 52nd anniversary of the April 1974 Revolution with cultural and sporting events open to the public.

A highlight is the concert by Agir, scheduled for 9.30 pm on 25 April at the old Pontinha market.

On 25 April, there will be guided tours of the Museum Centre of the Armed Forces Movement Command Post, housed in the Pontinha Barracks, the site where operations were coordinated for the revolutionary movement that brought an end to the dictatorship in Portugal.

Also on this day, the traditional Freedom Run and Freedom Cycle Ride will take place, starting from Pontinha and finishing at Praça dos Restauradores in Lisbon.
