Detalles

Ten black and white photographs of the fado singer, taken in Lisbon in the 1950s by British photojournalist Thurston Hopkins (1913–2014), will be on display in the monument's upper choir.

The images, which belong to the Culturgest Foundation collection, show the fado singer and first woman to receive Pantheon honors through the lens of one of the most influential British photojournalists of the 20th century, known for his humanist work and social criticism.

The exhibition invites the public to revisit the photographer's unique perspective on one of the greatest figures in Portuguese culture.
