Bordalo em Trânsito is the title of the proposal that prepares the renovation of the Museum's long-term exhibition. During the break, we welcomed visitors with the same honor as always, paying homage to our greatest artist, Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro. We invite you to take a journey through the artist's work, in an essay that revisits his chosen themes and offers a plural and informed reading of his talent, creativity and remarkable capacity for work.

The Bordalo em Trânsito exhibition presents itself as a proposal to re-read Bordalo themes in the light of the present, with the precious note that the critical spirit and humor can be the perfect allies for the construction of an active, participative, constructive citizenship.

Organized into three sections – Bordalo à mirror, Zé Povinho, Identity and Politics and Bordalo à Mesa -, the exhibition opened to the public on July 9, 2021 and will last approximately two years, until the opening of the new permanent exhibition at the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum .
