18 APRIL / 5.00 pm - Free admission
Drawing on the autobiographical writings of Luiza Andaluz, we propose the creation of a piece for baroque cello and voice entitled ‘Let the work begin’ (an expression used by the bishop when authorising the founding of the Congregation of the Servants of Our Lady of Fátima).
The idea of beginning and annunciation is explored, invoking the figure of the Angel, who appears throughout Ignaz Franz von Biber’s Rosary Sonatas.
As the herald of a work about to begin, the Angel (a musical and theological theme and a figure of great significance in that era) will help to weave together the life and thoughts of Luiza Andaluz, projecting them into the present and opening up a future that it is now up to each of us to begin.
