MIND THE GAP – Cadavre Exquis
A European project under the Creative Europe programme
O'culto da Ajuda, 12 November at 9 pm, and Lisbon Superior School of Music, 14 November at 9 pm

The Lisbon edition of the Mind the Gap project, organised by Miso Music Portugal in partnership with the Lisbon Superior School of Music (ESML), takes place from 11 to 14 November. Events will be held at O'culto da Ajuda and at the ESML. The project aims to give greater visibility to the creative voices of women composers and to help reduce gender inequality in contemporary composition.

The programme includes awareness-raising initiatives and a symposium on 12 and 14 November. On 12 November at 9 pm, the Miso String Quartet performs at O'culto da Ajuda. The concert features works by four composers: Doina Rotaru, Kaija Saariaho, Constança Capdeville and Fátima Fonte, whose new piece, commissioned by Miso Music Portugal, receives its world premiere.

On 14 November at 9 pm, the ESML hosts the premiere of a collective piece in the form of a Cadavre Exquis. It will be performed by an international ensemble of 12 musicians and brings together nine women composers from France, Portugal, Latvia and Hungary, the countries taking part in this European project.
