‘The Golden Ass’: a journey into the world of classical literature
Written by the Roman author Apuleius (c. 124 AD – 170 AD), probably between the years 160 and 170 AD, *The Golden Ass* is one of the most significant works of classical literature and the only Latin novel to have survived in its entirety. 

Now adapted for the stage, the story follows Lucius, a man whose curiosity leads to his unexpected transformation into a donkey.

Throughout his journey to regain his human form, the character faces a multitude of experiences, encounters various characters and experiences a series of episodes marked by humour, adventure and the unexpected.

Renowned for its blend of fantasy, comedy and critical observation of the society of its time, this theatrical reinterpretation also offers a unique insight into the imagination and culture of the Roman world.
