The starting point for this exhibition by visual artist Carlos Bunga is his surreal drawing My First Home Was A Woman, 1975.
In this work, a pregnant figure takes centre stage: the head is a house, while the limbs carry both human and animal traits, and the torso is covered by a stamp from the Portuguese colonial era.
