Pictorial art will interact with music performed by the Teatro Nacional São Carlos Choir in a Christmas concert involving large choirs and works relating to the festive season, while masterpieces of Portuguese art are projected.
From the Baroque to the Romantic, by way of the Classical, the musical programme covers different periods in the history of music, using the Christian theme as a leitmotif.
From Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria to L’enfance du Christ, Hector Berlioz’s oratorio about the childhood of Jesus, ending with one of the most popular pieces of Christmas music: We Wish You A Merry Christmas.
