The series of drawings by Klaus Mosettig that makes up the exhibition "It’s not about me here" (an inscription in one of the works shown) offers us a paradox whereby we are confronted with various forms of a political awareness that lies in this series’ self-referential quality, in the seeming anonymity of everyday life and in an assortment of processes connected to the production of images and written language.

These drawings are developed through a methodology that is evocative of a gesture, and also from sentences or words appropriated by the artist. In some cases, they are loose sentences or fragments from works by other artists, which he probably saw in galleries or books, while in others they have to do with reactions to events in his everyday life, while experiencing those periods of withdrawal from social life that have become globally known by the term “lockdown”.

This extended and discontinuous situation, familiar to all of us, defines a language metric that is present in the title of each drawing (though not inscribed in it) as “Typeface Corona”, followed by a sequential number.

Hence, the words drawn on the sheet of paper are part of a visual or linguistic play, in the sense that this particular font can be associated with a state of mind influenced by this time, which we share with the word “corona”, now part of our everyday vocabulary, but also by other political and social events that affect the artist and manifest themselves in the drawings in ways that are encrypted, and thus not obvious at all to the viewer.
