In a tribute to Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, original creator of the ceramic swallow mould, which has become a symbol recognised by the Portuguese, the artist Madalena Martins recreates the return of these birds which announce the arrival of spring.
The installation of the swallows in the museum also include the figure of a cat and another of Bordalo Pinheiro himself, creating a diversity of the shadows cast over the walls and floor of the salon.
