René Lalique and The Age of Glass

This exhibition, intitled “The Age of Glass”, is wholly dedicated to René Lalique and includes 100 objects created by the artist.

This exhibition, intitled “The Age of Glass”, is wholly dedicated to René Lalique and includes 100 objects created by the artist, most of which were acquired by Calouste Gulbenkian between 1899 and 1927, when the two became friends.

The jewels, items of jewellery, glass, vases and objects for daily use and design are exhibited chronologically, mapping out the various stages of Lalique’s career, from his jeweller days to the time when he dedicated himself solely to working with glass.
