Visitors are invited to move through and inhabit the installation, a poetic wandering game in which the chosen path will not always lead you to the hoped-for destination, the liberation represented by reaching the far side of the crossing.
A lament for segregation and a call for its end.
This is the central idea behind Coral Dos Corpos Sem Norte, the installation by the Angolan artist Kiluanji Kia Henda, presented within the framework of BoCA - Biennial of Contemporary Arts.
At its core stands a gigantic metal fence forming a large-scale habitable labyrinth, with grilles of varied patterns, a direct allusion to urban architecture and to the so-called “geometry of fear”.
