The photographic exhibition "Communications Workers, a history in black and white" presents a journey into the daily life of postal and telecommunications employees in the first half of the 20th century.

The exhibition comprises 60 photographs showcasing the environment in which they worked, their functions, the services they provided and the changes that took place in the sector over time.

The pioneering role of the communications area in integrating women in a markedly male professional environment is also visible.

Under the corporativism of the Estado Novo (New State) during the 1940s, professional schools were set up to train women in areas such as nursing, social services and telephony.
