Both composers, Mário Lúcio & Princezito, are two of the most prominent figures in Cape Verdean music, and from whom performers such as Cesária Évora, Lura, Nancy Vieira or Mayra Andrade seek songs for their albums.

Born in Tarrafal, the two are brothers seven years apart. Mário Lúcio, the oldest, has been in music for forty years, having inspired his brother, whom he has taken care of since the premature loss of his parents, who has been composing and singing for twenty.

His repertoire permeates all the music of Cape Verde, with the former bringing the morna, the coladeira, the songs in his style, and the latter interpreting the batuco and finaçon, between the ancient and the modern. The difference in personalities between the two – Mário Lúcio is more ethereal, introspective and meditative, and Princezito is more down-to-earth, extroverted and showman – makes their concerts unique events, allowing a journey through their roots and a pilgrimage to the new sounds of the Archipelago. .

Since 2016, the INATEL Foundation, in partnership with the Festival Músicas do Mundo de Sines, has promoted the CICLO MUNDOS, an annual program designed for different generations, which opens the way and gives space to the music that is made in the world.
