Revolution Xenakis

This exhibition, co-produced by the Paris Philharmonie, is part of the commemorations of the centenary of Iannis Xenakis at the Gulbenkian Foundation and highlights the architectures of sound that Xenakis created over the course of his career.

The year 2022 marks the centenary of the birth of artist Iannis Xenakis (Romania, 1922 – France, 2001), a composer, theorist, mathematician, architect and engineer who was prominent in the 20th-century art world.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is commemorating this anniversary by presenting six works commissioned to the artist and an exhibition focusing on the architectures of sound that Xenakis created over the course of his career.

This project is a co-production with the Philharmonie de Paris and stems from a partnership between the Centro de Arte ModernaGulbenkian Music and the Gulbenkian Culture Programme.
