Operafest Lisboa'24

The “out of the box” Operafest 2024 Lisboa & Oeiras led by soprano Catarina Molder and produced by Ópera do Castelo, is back, crossing tradition and vanguardism, with new incredible venues to enjoy, doubling its audience reach with exciting opera for everyone!

Operafest 2024 will take place in Lisbon and Oeiras. 

This 5th Edition under the moto “Basic Instinct” launches in sumptuous Gardens of Palácio Marquês two masterpieces of Italian verismo: “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Mascagni and “Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo, right after for the younger ones, the opera tale “Little Thumb” by Isabelle Aboulker. In the open-air Amphitheatre of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, “Don Giovanni” by Mozart. Celebrating five hundred years of one of the greatest poets of all time and father of Portuguese language Luís Vaz de Camões, the absolute premiere of cantata performance “Torment” based on Canto V of epic poem “Lusíadas” and “Five ways to die of love”, Maratona Ópera XXI, Cine-opera, Conferences, Debates, Workshops, closing with unique Operatic Rave. 

In Operafest, opera is served with plenty of adrenalin.
