Discover the collections, centre of modern art, bookshop, gardens and open-air auditorium where a very important part of Lisbon’s cultural life takes place.

The Gulbenkian is Lisbon’s greatest cultural venue.

Created through the will of a notable humanist – Calouste Gulbenkian – the foundation’s purpose is to promote the universal values of humankind. The arts, science and education are therefore given a special emphasis.

The museum, art library, modern art centre, with the largest collection of 20th-century Portuguese art, and the temporary exhibitions attract thousands of visitors every day. Gulbenkian Música, with its choir, orchestra and guests organises truly unique programmes whose tickets sell out quickly. Besides this, the gardens, research centre and publications attract many other people, creating an impressive field of knowledge and human experience.

Set some time aside in your day to absorb the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary place.
