A Life on Stage - Peter Wächtler

The works by the German artist take us on a journey through a universe in which fantasy, fable and existentialism are allied in the creation of sets which explore a radical ambiguity.

Peter Wächtler uses narrative and, above all, monologue as tools to create.

The works by the German artist take us on a journey through a universe in which fantasy, fable and existentialism are allied in the creation of sets which explore a radical ambiguity.

This exhibition is his first time in Portugal and celebrates a decade of works.

Faced with his drawings, sculptures and films, one sometimes feels a certain derealisation.

The characters from another time and with different manners reveal our disenchantments and expectations, embodying our collective anxiety and pointing the way to dream, imagination and allegory as the right paths to redemption.
